Binghamton has been named the capital of the nation's "Pierogy Pocket," winning Mrs. T's Pierogies second annual contest promoting the stuffed-dough delicacy.
Binghamton beat out Lancaster and Buffalo for the honor, as well as Clifton, N.J., and Whiting, Ind. The winner gets bragging rights and a $10,000 prize to award to a community organization.
Voters were asked to cast ballots online, sometimes repeatedly, to pick which city got the honor.
